Northern Light Technologies: Genesis
The Genesis cap lamp is cordless and houses a tracking tag within the all-in-one, ergonomic enclosure. According to Northern Light Technologies, tracking tags help mine operators improve their planning and communication with staff, monitor various key elements of mine operations, enhance their data collection and operate mines more safely. Housing the tracking tag within the cap lamp also prevents the loss of tracking tags. The primary LED has a life of 20,000 hours and a minimum of 3,500 lux. Emergency flashing is activated with a five-second hold down. Recharging is complete in fewer than 12 hours, and the battery cycle life exceeds 500 charges. www.nltinc.com Keep Reading

Doosan: DXB260H
The Doosan DXB260H hydraulic breaker features two-speed control of breaker frequency for improved efficiency in rock-breaking applications. Delivering up to 600 blows per minute, the 5,400-lb. DXB260H is designed for use with excavators in the 27-to-37-metric-ton range. Rated in the 8,000 ft.-lb. impact energy class, the DXB260H requires a hydraulic flow rate of between 39.5 and 63.5 gallons per minute. With two speeds, the breaker frequency can be easily adjusted between short and long stroke settings. This allows the operator to match the breaker frequency to the ground conditions for optimized productivity. Standard features include a cradle-mounted grease station and blank fire protection. The breaker’s suspension system extends excavator work group life by absorbing harmful vibrations and stress waves. Also, a main valve design reduces hydraulic pressure peaks that can reduce pump life, crack excavator workgroup welds and cause system overheating. www.doosanequipment.com Keep Reading
Hitachi: SkyAngle
SkyAngle, a camera monitoring system from Hitachi, takes synthesized images from several wide-angle cameras mounted on trucks and displays them in the cab. The system results in a bird’s eye view of surrounding machinery. In addition to the proximity of machinery, operators can switch to zoom display or wide display modes, enabling more comprehensive monitoring of a wide area. Operators can quickly grasp what is occurring around machinery, such as position of other equipment, service vehicles or people. www.hitachimining.com Keep Reading

W.S. Tyler: Hydro-Clean
The Hydro-Clean washing system from W.S. Tyler can now be mounted on chassis for movement from place to place. Like the original Hydro-Clean, the portable unit cleans deleterious material from aggregate, recycled and other minerals. In the process, W.S. Tyler says the Hydro-Clean uses up to 75 percent less water than traditional washers and 15 percent less energy. Water consumption ranges from 27 to 211 gallons per minute, depending on application and model size. The company adds that up to 90 percent of the total wastewater volume can be recycled and reused in the Hydro-Clean, which requires 10 percent freshwater to operate effectively. www.wstyler.ca Photo: W.S.
