Martin Engineering: Vibrator designs

Martin Engineering is offering custom-engineered vibration technology for manufacturers of shakers, separators, wash plants and other process equipment that uses vibration as a working force. By adding the new capability to its extensive lineup of stock vibrators, Martin Engineering says it is opening up a range of possibilities for equipment designers who have traditionally been forced to engineer their products around existing vibrator models. Martin Engineering will offer an extensive range of designs and features for specific applications, including explosion-proof models, vertical shaft units, flange-mounted designs and low-profile vibrators that can be incorporated as part of a support structure. www.martin-eng.com Photo: Martin Engineering Keep Reading

Rain for Rent: MobyDick Conline

MobyDick Conline wheel wash systems remove dirt, mud and debris from up to 300 trucks daily in a variety of settings. According to Rain for Rent, the systems are easy to install, fully automated and adaptable to varying terrain. They're also cost-effective alternatives to street sweepers and pressure washers because of their advanced spray technology, optimized truck throughput and water-recycling module. In some cases, regulators require a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan to minimize erosion and runoff of pollutants on a jobsite. The Conline wheel wash system can be an important component of this plan, says Rain for Rent. www.rainforrent.com Photo: Rain for Rent Keep Reading

Caterpillar: 988K

The seventh-generation 988K wheel loader features redesigned loader linkage, worldwide engine configurations, drivetrain modifications, a redesigned cab and enhancements in safety and serviceability, according to Caterpillar. The Cat C18 ACERT engine powers the 988K. The loader is available as a Tier 4 Final version or as a Tier 2 version. Cat says electronic fuel control ensures optimum performance and throttle response, delivering up to 20 percent greater fuel efficiency compared with the 988H. Additional fuel savings accrue with the 988K Eco Mode, engine-idle shutdown system and engine-idle auto-resume system. An optimized Z-bar loader linkage replaces the 988H mono-boom design and expands the 988K's versatility in small quarries and underground applications, the company says. The new design, using solid steel lift arms in either a standard or high-lift configuration, reduces machine height at maximum lift yet increases dump clearance. www.caterpillar.com Photo: Caterpillar Keep Reading

Atlas Copco: HB 4100

The new addition to Atlas Copco's heavy hydraulic breaker line, the HB 4100, provides better performance and higher efficiency than the preceding model, and it weighs less, the company says. The breaker has a service weight of 9,039 lbs. and is designed for carriers in the 88,185- to 154,324-lb. class. According to Atlas Copco, reduced weight and better performance mean similar results can be achieved with a smaller hydraulic breaker. A lighter breaker also means a smaller excavator can be used, saving both investment and operating costs. An improvement is a guide system that makes the breaker more stable and resilient, Atlas Copco adds. www.atlascopco.us Photo: Atlas Copco Keep Reading

Masaba, Inc.: Portable wash plants

Masaba's line of portable wash plants are designed with features like rollaway front chutes to make changing screens and flashing faster to get plants up and running faster. An optional hydraulic fold-down slurry box helps users set up without any need for cranes. Masaba says the plants tuck nicely for transport. Masaba screws come with urethane wear shoes, optional folding wings, and they're configured with standard off-the-shelf components for higher serviceability and uptime. www.masabainc.com Keep Reading

AggFlow

AggFlow has expanded its wash and water capabilities to include features for simulating plant operations and enhancing productivity. According to AggFlow, it is allowing users to calculate mass aggregate and water balances flowing through a plant simulation using both stationary and mobile equipment. Building a simulation that calculates a theoretically perfect scenario and then comparing that scenario to actual operating results allows users to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the plant operation and to optimize and maximize overall production, the company says. The program incorporates aspects of water processing in its calculations, including log washers, sand screws, classifiers, clarifiers and the entire range of scrubbing and attrition, as well as sand washing and dewatering machines. The program also incorporates pumps, spray bars, cyclones and other features to customize water-processing calculations and track water mass balance. www.aggflow.com Keep Reading

W.S. Tyler: Pro-Deck

Pro-Deck is W.S. Tyler’s consultative approach to fine-tuning your vibrating screens and professionally blending multiple types of screen media on a single deck. Pro-Deck maximizes classification efficiency while minimizing downtime and maintenance costs. By implementing a blended solution and applying the most effective screen media to each phase of the screening process, you can achieve an optimal combination of open area and durability. To achieve this goal, a trained professional follows five integral steps: vibration analysis, machine inspection, screen media audit, screen media recommendation and screen media implementation. The results are better product quality and higher profits, the company says. www.tylerprodeck.com Keep Reading
