Volvo Construction Equipment highlighted more than 20 machines – including 14 new or first-look models – at ConExpo-Con/Agg.
Exhibiting in the Festival Grounds of the Las Vegas Convention Center, the company hosted live demos, hands-on operating experiences and integrated displays, reinforcing its show theme of “Power Your Ambition.”
“ConExpo is about listening to our customers so we can support their ambitions,” says Melker Jernberg, president of Volvo CE. “We are not just showing what the future could look like; we brought machines and services that are ready to deliver today.”
Machine portfolio
Since ConExpo 2023, Volvo says about 40 percent of the Volvo Group portfolio has been renewed. Specifically, Volvo CE has updated more than 35 percent of its machines, utilizing a multi-technology approach that includes battery-electric, internal combustion engine and grid-connected solutions. According to the company, the biggest updates are across key product platforms – including excavators, wheel loaders and articulated haulers, which together represent around 70 percent of the global construction market.
At ConExpo this year, Volvo CE offered a first look at the new EC560 crawler excavator. The new machine expands the company’s offering in the size class and is built for heavy infrastructure, quarry and large-scale construction applications.
Additionally, the company highlighted updates to its wheel loader lineup, from a new engine for the L350 to enhanced midsize models, including the L120 Electric. Articulated dump trucks and compaction were also spotlighted, with the company’s flagship A50 ADT on display and the SD70 soil compactor making its North American debut.
Technology focus
Another focus at ConExpo was Volvo CE’s technology suite. Tools like Load Ticket, Connected Map and ActiveCare Direct were showcased as ways operators can transform data into uptime and safety, according to the company.
Volvo CE’s equipment as a service (EaaS) model was on display for those seeking flexible fleet options. The company says its EaaS model offers guaranteed availability and predictable costs with a simple pay-for-use structure.
“Since the last ConExpo, we’ve renewed more than a third of our construction equipment lineup and brought powerful new machines to market,” says Scott Young, president of Volvo CE North America, who offers additional company insights in a P&Q-exclusive Q&A. “But the full customer value comes when those machines are combined with our services and digital tools. The right machines, backed by the right services, help our customers work safer, more productively and with lower total cost of ownership.”
