Fuel efficiency increased in line’s largest loader

The 1221F wheel loader from Case Construction Equipment is the newest wheel loader in the company's F Series line. This loader is designed with an 11.9-liter Tier 4 Interim engine that delivers up to 355 hp, the company says. According to Case, enhancements to the engine and transmission at maximum travel speed allow for increases in productivity of at least 18 percent and fuel efficiency of at least 8 percent. A cooled exhaust gas recirculation engine with a diesel oxidation catalyst and diesel particulate filter powers the machine. Improved side-panel airflow and cleaner direct airflow combine to ensure extended service intervals and component life, Case adds. Also, a new power shift transmission with transmission mode settings allows operators to set the transmission to the specific application for optimal productivity and performance. casece.com Keep Reading

Latest model is a 17.5-ton, four-pass machine

The rated payload of Caterpillar's 990K is 17.5 tons – up from the 16.5-ton payload of the company's H Series model. The increased payload makes the loader a four-pass match with the Cat 775 truck, the company says. A Cat C27 ACERT engine powers the 990K and delivers an 11-percent increase in power compared with the company's previous model. Net power of 699 hp helps to deliver increased production without any change in fuel consumption, Cat adds. Also, running at a lower engine speed helps to drive economical fuel use, and additional fuel savings accrue with the machine's eco mode, engine-idle shutdown system and engine-idle kick-down. According to Cat, the 990K is available as a Tier 4 Final loader. No regeneration or operator intervention is required for the NOx reduction system and diesel oxidation catalyst equipping the Tier 4 Final model. cat.com Keep Reading

Improved belt cleaning efficiency and easy maintenance are two of the benefits of the Y-Type secondary cleaner, Flexco says. The cleaner comes with urethane blades that provide a tough yet gentle solution for belt-cleaning challenges, the company adds. The 3-in. urethane blade segments on the cleaner conform to worn or damaged belts, while the spring tensioner ensures there is consistent blade-to-belt interaction and constant pressure on the belt. The Y-Type secondary cleaner is available in sizes to fit belt widths between 18 in. and 48 in., and with a standard abrasion-resistant purple blade or a white chemical-resistant food-grade blade. flexco.com Keep Reading
