Video: Eriez illustrates tramp removal process
https://youtu.be/3YLFxaI8biQ Eriez’ new animated video features its equipment as its used to improve material handling efficiency and tramp metal removal in aggregates applications. The video demonstrates its vibratory feeders, suspended magnets and metal detectors in action at an aggregates plant. First, the vibratory feeder takes in the aggregate material, which is then conveyed to a suspended magnet that removes unwanted ferrous materials. Finally, the aggregate material passes through metal detectors, which identify ferrous, nonferrous and non-magnetic stainless steel metals, and a magnetic head pulley, which detects small iron contaminants. Three power modes help to reduce fuel consumption
Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas Inc.'s two newest wheel loaders – the HL770-9A and the HL780-9A – are part of the company's new 9A product line that meets Tier 4 Interim standards. According to Hyundai, the HL770-9A features a 297-hp QSL9 engine while the HL780-9A has a 351-hp, QSX11.9 engine. Both loaders have three engine modes – power mode for heavy-duty work; standard mode for general work; and economy mode for light-duty work. The loaders are also equipped with a fully automatic transmission that's designed for minimal power loss, improved travel speed and low noise, according to Hyundai. For jobs such as loading high-sided trucks or hoppers where a higher dump height is needed, both loaders are available in extended-reach models. hceamericas.com Keep Reading

Styling changes are also functional
Kawasaki's 95Z7 wheel loaders were redesigned to meet all Tier 4 Interim emission standards. The 95Z7 features a 388-net-hp engine and is equipped with a 7.3-cu.yd. general-purpose bucket. According to KCMA Corp., the marketer for Kawasaki wheel loaders, the most apparent change to the 95Z7 is its overall appearance. New styling sets the machine apart from other models, KCMA says, but the styling changes are functional as well as aesthetic. For example, KCMA says the hood design improves rear visibility and serviceability. In addition, the planetary automatic‐shift transmission has automotive‐style smooth shifting from pulse width modulation in the control valve. This transmission also has a standard lockup torque converter to improve fuel economy and performance. kawasakiloaders.com Keep Reading

Introduction meets Tier 4 Final standard
The 457 wheel loader from JCB features a new cab structure, an engine cover and a rear counterweight design – all of which contribute to improved visibility, lower noise levels, increased internal space and an enhanced working environment for operators, the company says. In addition, the 457 is the first large JCB wheel loader to meet Tier 4 Final standards. The company adopted an MTU diesel engine to match the machine’s operating duties. The engine contributes to fuel savings of about 16 percent compared with the company's previous model, JCB says. As with other JCB machines, the engine in the 457 meets Tier 4 Final without the need for a diesel particulate filter. In addition, JCB LiveLink allows customers to set work hour curfews, outside of which the machine will not function, along with geofencing. jcb.com Keep Reading

Attachment is stronger, offers additional flex
The JRBNexus cast multi pickup coupler features a carbon steel casting design that gives it 30 percent more strength and up to 11 percent more flex prior to yielding than a fabricated coupler, Paladin Attachments says. The coupler offset was reduced to provide an improvement in breakout force impact. According to Paladin, the design optimizes the weight distribution of the coupler, bringing the center of gravity closer to the machine for better load stabilization. The JRB Nexus is designed to pick up both ISO and 416 attachments and features replaceable ISO pins and 416 collars to extend the life of the coupler while maintaining a tighter fit throughout the coupler's life. The design also features 167 sq. in. of additional visibility in the center of the coupler for improved load management and safer operations when using fork attachments, the company says. paladinattachments.com Keep Reading
