Sandvik debuted the Ranger DX1010i drill rig as a new long-feed version that enhances the capabilities of the Ranger DXi top hammer rig family in mining applications.

Featuring up to 21 ft. of single-pass drilling and an increased compressor output, the DX1010i is designed to provide a large drill coverage area and improved rock tool performance.

The long-piston RD930 rock drill and dedicated CT55/67 rock tools further boost performance by generating optimized shockwaves to achieve higher penetration rates, longer tool life and lower fuel consumption, according to Sandvik.

To support deeper holes, the auxiliary systems of the Ranger DX1010i include upgrades that increase power, air and water. The compressor is designed to clear deeper holes with a flushing capacity of 11 cubic meters per minute.

Additionally, the water system includes an optional extra tank, increasing capacity to 500 liters to support extended drilling with water flushing.

The rig also includes features aimed at making the operator’s life easier and their work more productive, including the iCab cabin, advanced connectivity for Sandvik digital solutions, improved one-hole automation with collaring automatics and the iClean drilling automation system.
