Profiting from trade shows

Learn what can and cannot be tax deductible when you attend or exhibit at an event such as ConExpo-Con/Agg. Every owner, manager and employee of a stone, sand or gravel business has long been allowed to claim an income tax deduction for the expenses of attending trade shows, conventions and meetings. Thanks to our tax laws, the government will pick up the tab for a sizable portion of the expenses of attending those events – if the rules are followed. Because our tax rules allow a deduction for all of the ordinary and necessary expenses paid or incurred in carrying on a trade or business, every aggregates producer can deduct the travel expenses of attending a convention if it can be shown that attendance benefits the business. The agenda does not have to deal specifically with anyone’s official duties and responsibilities; it is enough if the agenda shows attendance was for bona fide business purposes. Business vs. personal While all travel expenses can be deducted if the trip is entirely… Keep Reading

Atlas Copco: BC 1500

Atlas Copco's bucket crushers are designed to solve jobsite waste management issues by recycling asphalt, stone and concrete debris, as well as mine, quarry and trench material. The four Atlas Copco bucket crushers were engineered with a wide aperture bucket and large capacity, the company says. The output size adjusts from 0.5 to 4.75 in., or from 0.5 to 4 in. in the BC 1500. The bucket jaws, which receive the most wear, can be inverted. The top and bottom jaws can be replaced, and single jaws can be rotated by 180 degrees to provide for more even wear and longer service life. The bucket crushers have two grease points, and Atlas Copco recommends 30-hour greasing intervals. www.atlascopco.us Keep Reading

Terex Minerals Processing Systems

The new Terex Cedarapids CRC380XHLS portable crushing and screening plant’s unique design allows the cone crusher to be constantly choke fed, maximizing production capability. The High Lift Screen (HLS) and the cone hopper overflow system allow a large head of material to build-up, force-feeding the cone crusher which increases throughput. The large cone hopper and overflow chute buffer feed variations and prevent material from backing up to the screen, which allows production rates to stay at peak levels with no need to throttle back. A gross throughput of up to 1200 tons per hour is possible in sand and gravel. www.terexmps.com Photo: Terex Keep Reading
