ConExpo 2014 Exhibitor Profile: REMco
New developments will be on display at REMco’s booth, including a new large vertical shaft impactor (VSI) portable plant incorporating self-leveling and other advanced features. All REMco VSI crushers include SmartBox-ready construction. The REMco SmartBox system will also be on display and available for user demo. In addition, the latest design of REMco ST/AR and VSG machines will be on display. At this show, REMco is introducing its own line of PROcone and PROjaw crushers, which will be offered to all operators in North and South America. In addition, the Proman line of crushing equipment is being introduced in Las Vegas as the newest player in the U.S. market. ConExpo 2014 Exhibitor Profile: Terex Minerals Processing Systems
Terex Minerals Processing Systems will be displaying a new jaw crusher, a new screen and a new cone crusher. The Terex Cedarapids CRJ3750 plant combines a robust JS Series jaw crusher with a high-stroke, 52-in.-x-20-ft. vibrating grizzly feeder — resulting in a high-production portable crushing machine. The highly mobile plant is easy to operate and maintain, the company says, and offers new levels of reliability and convenience. Multiple options are available, allowing customers to configure the plant to meet specific needs. Options include a rock breaker, folding hopper wings, hydraulic jacks, hydraulic deployed switchgear, and several axle configurations. The new Terex Cedarapids “V” Series Horizontal Screens increase production and handle applications not possible with traditional horizontal screens, the company says, because they combine the efficient, high g-force ElJay oval stroke motion with variable slope operation to handle larger deck loads. The new design also features more steel in the “rock zone” for industry-leading durability. The screens have multiple new patent-pending features to boost production, including a variable slope to handle… Keep Reading

ConExpo 2014 Exhibitor Profile: Wirtgen America Inc.
Two new Kleemann mobile jaw crushers featuring exclusive EVO technology will be introduced to the North American market in Las Vegas. The Mobicat MC 110 Ri EVO and the MC 110 Zi EVO will be among 41 machines — most of them new i-series products — that Wirtgen America will have on display. ConExpo 2014 Exhibitor Profile: Superior Industries
The Morris, Minn.-based manufacturer of conveyor systems and components will highlight its latest conveyor component innovations at both an indoor and an outdoor booth in Las Vegas. That includes the Navigator Return Trainer, the Exterra SFL Dual Belt Cleaner, and the Chevron Pulley, which deflects fugitive material out and away, preventing costly belt damage. With the pulley’s even-wearing rounded contact bars, its continuous belt contact reduces beating action and vibration for quiet operation. The Chevron Pulley will be displayed next to a traditional wing pulley; and sales and engineering representatives will be on-hand to discuss the key differences in operation between the two. In addition, Superior will display a representation of its complete line of conveyor pulleys; its complete line of Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA)-rated idlers, which includes its Moxie Rolls that shed sticky materials and prevent tracking issues; and its Urathon Return Rolls, which prevent material buildup and increase wear life. Superior will also highlight its Sealing System, which prevents material spillage in load zones; and engineers will… Keep Reading
ConExpo 2014 Exhibitor Profile: John Deere
Designed and built in Davenport, Iowa, the E-Series articulated dump trucks (ADTs) feature a John Deere PowerTech 13.5L IT4 engine with three power levels based on the model: 422 net hp (370E), 443 net hp (410E), and 481 net hp (460E). A purpose-built ZF transmission includes a high capacity retarder, eight forward gears and four reverse gears. In addition, the John Deere hauler axles are designed for heavy-duty applications and include on-the-fly differential locks, outboard planetaries and each axle is independently pressure lubed and filtered. The E-Series axles use internal wet disc brakes that use independent cooling circuits. Allowing the differential lock system to run in automatic mode will simplify operation for new operators by taking the guesswork out of using the differential locks. When ground conditions get soft and difficult, the system will automatically control the axle differential locks as well as the inter-axle differential lock all while the truck is still moving. (An experienced operator can still choose to manually engage the traction controls.) A newly designed stay-tight… Keep Reading
ConExpo 2014 Exhibitor Profile: Deister Machine Co.
The new BFO-11224-EX2 Mine-Duty Screen is a 12x24-ft. horizontal, single-deck unit that features Deister’s new EX Series of geared exciters, which are designed to create the force output required to drive today’s large screens. Geared exciters feature all-steel components; specially coated bearing inner races to deter wear on shafts; and shafts that are case-hardened and ground for minimal wear. Mechanisms are sealed to minimize oil contaminants and maximize bearing life. The seals ride on replaceable ceramic-coated spacers that minimize heat and increase seal life up to 10 times that of conventional steel spacers and seals, the company says. The unit features fully bolted construction as well as the use of A572-Grade 50 steel, and is engineered with independent cross beams for ease of maintenance. The Deister Mine-Duty Horizontal BFO Model Screen Series features a size range from 3x4 up to 12x28-ft., and configurations of a single deck up to four decks. Obama outlines vision to invest $302B in infrastructure
President Obama outlined his vision for investing in America’s infrastructure with a $302 billion, four-year surface transportation reauthorization proposal. During a speech made February 26 at the Union Depot train station in Saint Paul, Minn., he said he would work with Congress to act to ensure critical transportation programs continue to be funded and do not expire later this year. He announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation would offer $600 million in Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) competitive grants to fund transportation projects. The TIGER grant program, which was initially funded as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, was recently funded in the bipartisan Consolidated Appropriations Act that the President signed January 17. He proposed a four-year reauthorization of surface transportation programs that will modernize the nation’s infrastructure and ensure the health and growth of these critical programs for the future while supporting millions of jobs. He also proposed dedicating $150 billion in one-time transition revenue from pro-growth business tax reform to address the funding crisis… Keep Reading
