Volvo Construction Equipment

The new range of Volvo G900B-Series motor graders consists of the G930B (34,520 lbs.), G940B (35,843 lbs.), G946B (37,827 lbs.) and G960B (38,709 lbs.). All four models feature a new, larger displacement Tier 4i compliant engine with increased power and torque. The transmission is positioned ahead of the articulation pivot point beneath the cab to assist in blade down pressure at the front while weighing down the rear wheels — allowing for 8,500 lbs. of extra drawbar pull. With ergonomically designed controls, high-performance climate control and an unobstructed view, the G900B-Series improves productivity and safety. VolvoCE.com Keep Reading

McLanahan Corp.

McLanahan’s horizontal shaft rubber lined range of pumps has been supplemented by its vertical shaft version for reliable duty in sand separation systems. Utilizing a split casing design and the same replaceable rubber wet end components featured in the horizontal shaft version, the pump is designed to handle sand sized solids in suspension. The pump is fitted with a proprietary mechanical gland seal, and the four-bearing shaft is designed to reduce overhung loads that result in the early bearing failure common with vertical shaft pumps, the company says. Weir Minerals

Weir Minerals Linatex has added to its hose offerings with a preformed hose bend, wear indicator system and an enhanced cut end hose system. Intended as a replacement for hard walled pipe bends in slurry transfer pipelines, the preformed hose bend provides a significant wear life improvement over standard metal pipe, the company says. The tube provides wear resistance in a rubber compound for wet slurry applications. The wear indicator system provides a solution to many of the traditional issues surrounding the maintenance of hose in highly abrasive environments, with continuous monitoring. The company has enhanced its previous cut end hose by increasing the standard working pressure to 150 psi. WeirMinerals.com Keep Reading

W.S. Tyler

W.S. Tyler’s line of N-Class vibrating screens features four-bearing eccentric screening technology to help minimize structural vibration and ensure smooth, efficient operation. The N-Class can serve as an alternative to grizzly feeders, and it offers self-cleaning action to minimize issues like blinding and pegging found with traditional grizzly feeders. The line is flexible enough to fit into most operations with an apron feeder, yet it features advanced eccentric screening technology to handle heavy-duty applications. WSTyler.ca Keep Reading

PPI

PPI’s Herringbone wing pulley is designed to give continuous smooth belt contact while providing good cleaning action. The dual action is possible because the angled wings expel material out of the pulley rather than cast it forward onto the belt. The design enables wings to angle up to 45 degrees, meaning more material with a larger lump size can pass through without lodging. PPIpella.com Keep Reading

Atlas Copco

The Minetruck MT42 from Atlas Copco is a high-speed, four-wheel-drive articulated mining truck with a 42-ton tramming capacity. The truck has eight forward and two reverse gears, and is powered by a 520-hp engine that delivers a higher speed on ramps. Front-axle suspension contributes to operator comfort and enables greater speeds on mine roadways. Articulated steering increases maneuverability and allows agile cornering, and the MT42’s dump system can discharge a full load in just 13 seconds. Operators also now have a better view thanks to a backup camera and a loading camera mounted on the back of the cabin. Atlascopco.com Photo: Atlas Copco Keep Reading

Cougar Vibration

Towmaster is striving to improve efficiency and safety by installing a 12-volt vibration unit from Cougar Vibration on virtually all of its dump bodies. Located at the center front on the underside of the body, the vibrator helps quickly release sticky materials, avoiding the need to raise the body to its steepest angle. The vibrator is also designed to help avoid sudden starts and stops to release stubborn loads. Towmaster is specifically using the DC-3200, a design that delivers 4,000 vibration cycles per minute with 3,200 lbs. of force. Cougarvibration.com Photo: Cougar Vibration Keep Reading
