Simplicity, a Terex MPS brand, launched the MHS620X screen plant within its modular product offering. According to Simplicity, the MHS620X features a new “extra clearance” 6-ft. x 20-ft. ESX horizontal screen that debuted at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2023. The ESX horizontal screen provides increased space between screen decks, allowing for easier maintenance access to screen media while improving maintenance safety. Features of the MHS620X are an extra-heavy-duty I-beam frame and a rigid diagonal truss construction and a galvanized steel structure that includes walkways, stairs and guardrails. The MHS620X emphasizes safety, sustainability, ease of operation and streamlined setup, the company says.
‘Revolutionary’ tech to be available on horizontal screens

Astec Industries developed a prototype called Vari-Frequency, reimagining the screen deck in what the company describes as a “first of its kind.” Astec’s new screen involves a structured frame that’s paired with a live, free-moving deck that harnesses natural frequencies and vibrations that are activated during operation and when material impacts screen media. Astec says the vibrations stimulate the screen media and bulk material, reducing blinding and boosting productivity. According to Astec, the Vari-Frequency screen uses side-tensioned screen wire cloth, and it does not require an external power source. It has common interface points with other low-profile screens.
Scalping screen ideal for large feed sizes

The newest screen in Superior Industries’ lineup of Guardian horizontal screens handles a maximum feed size of 18 in., surpassing the company’s medium-duty predecessor that maxes out at 14 in. The heavy-duty scalping screen is equipped with a perforated top deck, or punch plate, and it’s made of 3/4-in. AR steel. A slight slope facilitates the movement of feed material for efficient screening, the company adds.
