Asa Thunman was hired as executive vice president and general counsel of Sandvik, and Scot Smith was named Sandvik Mining president. Also, Gary Hughes, president of Sandvik Mining, will assume the position of sales and marketing head.
According to a press release, Thunman is currently senior vice president and general counsel of Securitas AB. She has held that role since 2011, having joined the company in 2009. Smith, meanwhile, is president of the Sulzer Pumps Division. He was previously head of the Weir Group’s mining division – a post he held for 11 years.
