The 19th annual Mine Safety & Health Conference, a forum for safety and health professionals in the Western U.S., will take place Oct. 23-25 in Reno, Nevada.
The conference will be held at the Grand Sierra Resort and offer attendees a variety of educational and networking opportunities. The conference’s breakout sessions are designed to inform, inspire and keep attendees up to date on the latest practices in mine safety and health. Additionally, those who attend can visit with vendors specializing in safety equipment.
A series of speakers from across the industry is slated to present in Reno. Among those on the conference schedule is Ogletree Deakins’ Margo Lopez, a monthly Pit & Quarry contributor who will discuss impact inspections and managing them for the best possible outcome.
Yet another conference focused on mine safety and health is the Southeast Mine Safety & Health Conference. This meeting, scheduled for Nov. 1-3 in Birmingham, Alabama, also features a variety of speakers who will address topics such as culture, complaints, and mine safety successes and failures.
