AEM hosts symposium on US transportation infrastructure

aem-logoThe Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and the Northwestern University Transportation Center partnered to host the Mobility 2050 Symposium from 2-5 p.m. on May 23. The event honed in on how U.S. transportation infrastructure will look in the year 2050.

The event took place at Northwestern University. Through the event, AEM and the Northwestern University Transportation Center sought perspectives from different consumers of infrastructure on how to pursue a national, comprehensive plan for the future of U.S. infrastructure.

The Mobility 2050 Symposium featured Victor Mendez, deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation; Randall Blankenhorn, secretary of the Illinois Department of Transportation; Ronald De Feo, CEO, Kennametal and chair of AEM’s Infrastructure Vision 2050 task force; Dr. Julio Ottino, dean of the Robert R. McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science at Northwestern University; and Dov Shenkman, group vice president of supply chain strategy, inventory and transportation at Walgreens.
