Pit & Quarry asked its readers this summer what their primary draw to ConExpo-Con/Agg 2020 will be.

As expected, equipment and technology is the main attraction of the show, with two-thirds (67 percent) of respondents listing equipment and tech as the primary reason they’ll attend. Networking (25 percent) and education (6 percent) are also primary reasons aggregate producers will attend ConExpo-Con/Agg, but it is, of course, the latest equipment and technology developments that remain the big draw of the show.

Attendees are looking forward to seeing a variety of equipment and technology developments at ConExpo-Con/Agg. In fact, several different equipment categories are piquing the interest of producers at this stage.

Conveying and material handling equipment is of most interest among producers, with 78 percent of survey respondents planning to explore their options in this category at the show. Crushing and hydraulic breaking equipment (64 percent) is also of significant interest to survey respondents.

A majority of respondents also plan to explore excavators and loaders (53 percent) and portable plants (50 percent).

More than 40 percent of respondents plan to explore screening and screen media (47 percent) and washing and classifying equipment (42 percent), as well.

Also of interest among more than one-quarter of respondents are haul trucks and wear parts, with 28 percent expressing an interest in these areas.

Five other equipment categories – dust control, drones, maintenance, scales and weighing, and software/telematics/automation – also drew some interest in P&Q’s survey, with about 25 percent of respondents wanting to explore the latest options in these areas at ConExpo-Con/Agg.

Frac sand processing equipment isn’t too far behind in terms of interest, as 19 percent plan to explore this in Las Vegas. Pumps (17 percent), drilling and blasting equipment (14 percent) and power transmission components (11 percent) are also categories drawing interest.
