The Trump administration has received a number of comments on regulations that interfere with American manufacturing and, according to a Washington Post report, the White House is inclined to accept many of the submitted suggestions.
A comment from the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) is included in the 168 comments the White House received. NSSGA’s comment focused on regulations related to the Mine Safety & Health Administration, the Occupational Safety & Health Administration and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
According to The Washington Post, more than half of the comments brought up regulations from EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers.
“It’s encouraging to see clear and overwhelming support for clearing up the cluttered regulatory morass,” says Emily Coyner, director of environmental services for NSSGA. “We take every opportunity to talk to this administration about the value of aggregates and the negative impact of excessive regulation as our country focuses on fixing our crumbling infrastructure.”
