Wendling Quarries, a third-generation family business producing crushed stone, sand and gravel in eastern Iowa and western Illinois, named Kaleb DiRico president.

DiRico originally joined Wendling in 2021 as director of operations. He served the company over the last three-plus years as vice president of operations.

Prior to joining Wendling, DiRico spent more than 11 years at Martin Marietta.

“Over the past four years, Kaleb has brought steady leadership, vision and dedication to Wendling,” the company says in a written statement. “Combined with his 16 years of experience in the construction materials and aggregate industry, he is well-prepared to lead the company into its next chapter of growth and innovation.”

Wendling is headquartered in DeWitt, Iowa. The company ranks 80th on the U.S. Geological Survey’s latest list ranking the nation’s top crushed stone producers.
