The TA400 Generation 9 articulated truck is designed to keep productivity levels high, fuel consumption low and cycle times short, according to Terex. The truck has a 444-hp Tier 4 Interim Scania DC13 engine and a maximum payload of 41.9 tons. Its capacity is 30.3 cu. yd. The TA400 is equipped with dual retarder systems, a transmission retarder and exhaust brake, giving operators increased control in loaded, downhill hauls. It was engineered with a permanent all-wheel-drive driveline and equalizing rear suspension. Terex says a four-bar trailing arm suspension system contributes to the truck’s ride quality. The company also says service points are designed for quick and easy access. An electronic-assisted hood raise and a fully tilting cab specifically simplify access to major components and ground-level service points.
