Stedman Machine Co. featured some of the company’s developments at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2017, including its vertical shaft impactor (VSI) tube-style metal rotor.
According to Stedman, the VSI tube-style rotor creates higher tip speeds, which increases first-pass yield, yields tighter particle size distribution and reduces recirculation loads. The rotor rotation is reversible, allowing wear on both sides of the tube, the company says. Also, rotating the indexing tube one-quarter turn increases the wear surfaces. The tube-style rotor and reversible anvils can be retrofitted to any brand VSI, Stedman adds.
Applications include limestone, sand and gravel and a number of others. The rotor VSI tube-style rotor handles raw feed sizes up to 2.8 in., and models up to 300 tph are available.
In addition, Stedman displayed its H-54 multi-cage mill at ConExpo-Con/Agg. According to Stedman, it’s best at pulverizing, grinding, crushing and mixing abrasive and non-abrasive materials – wet, sticky or dry.
The H-Series provides a finer, more uniform grind, the company adds. It can handle up to 240 tph, and it’s reversible for extended wear life. In addition, the H-Series cage mills feature a quick-opening housing for quick inspection and maintenance. They allow for minimum downtime for wear part replacement and inspection, the company says, and each H-Series impact mill housing can accommodate two-, four- or six-row cage assemblies.
