SRM Materials acquired a granite quarry from North Georgia Aggregates in Elberton, Georgia.
According to SRM Materials, the quarry was established in the 1950s as a granite monument site. It transitioned to crushing aggregates in 2011.
“We’re excited to get this quarry fully operational and part of the SRM family,” says Ryan Hollingshead, president of SRM Materials. “This location fills in a service gap for SRM Materials, allowing us to better serve our customers.”
Separately, SRM Concrete acquired Fairmount Redi-Mix in Fairmount, Illinois, and Rockport Ready Mix in Cleveland.
The Fairmount Redi-Mix deal includes a ready-mixed concrete batching plant. The deal also marks SRM Concrete’s entry to Illinois.
Rockport Ready Mix, meanwhile, has operated a batching plant in Cleveland since 1993.
