VDG (Van der Graaf) celebrated its 40th anniversary in July with an open house at its facility in Shelby Township, Michigan. The company provided tours of its manufacturing operation while highlighting its in-house engineering, CNC machining, automated production and precision gear cutting. Several members of the Kanaris family were on hand, including (from left) Rebekka Kanaris, Alma Kanaris, communications coordinator Dimitri Kanaris, president Alex Kanaris, marketing and advertising manager Sonia Kanaris, manufacturing operations manager Jason Kanaris and after sales service supervisor Candice Kanaris.

Douglas Rulmeca opened a new manufacturing facility in Pell City, Alabama, that increases the company’s production capabilities in idlers and related conveyor components. Dubbed Project Vulcan, Douglas Rulmeca characterizes its new, state-of-the-art facility as “the most ambitious expansion in its history.” Douglas Rulmeca held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion. The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) hosted its annual Leadership Summit this summer at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida. Among those in attendance were (from left) Colas USA’s Zach Green, NSSGA’s Michele Stanley, All States Materials Group’s Seth Hankowski and Blue Water Industries’ Ted Baker II. The Leadership Summit presents an opportunity each year for the industry’s C-suite professionals to discuss the future of aggregates.

NPK Construction Equipment hosted a demolition event at its headquarters in Walton Hills, Ohio. The event, dubbed Demo Days, served as a 40th anniversary celebration for NPK, as well as an opportunity for the company to showcase its partnership with Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co. Among those on hand from NPK were director of sales Chris Salerno (left) and district manager Ken Skala.
