MINExpo International returns Sept. 24-26 to the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) in Las Vegas.

The 2024 trade show arrives three years after the last MINExpo, which was held in September 2021. Typically, four years pass between MINExpos, but the 2020 show was postponed by a year due to the COVID pandemic.

Despite the pandemic forcing the delay of the last MINExpo, the 2021 show drew 21,000 attendees from around the world who visited with 1,300 exhibitors. According to the National Mining Association (NMA), MINExpo 2021 exhibitors originated from 30 countries.

“There is nothing like [MINExpo],” says Jeffery Dawes, who chaired MINExpo in 2021. “There are 10 football fields worth of exhibitors and truly cutting-edge equipment. It’s the people that make it so special. These are the people making mining safer, smarter and more efficient than ever before.”

According to NMA, more than 1,800 exhibitors are expected to be present at the LVCC this September. P&Q reached out to NMA for additional information about this year’s show – including the anticipated attendance – but the magazine did not hear back ahead of press time.

NMA says those who attend this year’s show will find manufacturers, global suppliers and start-ups specializing in auxiliary equipment and supplies, components and replacement equipment, drilling equipment, electrical equipment and supplies, material handling, power transmission components and more.

Schedule of events

MINExpo 2024 kicks off at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The trade show floor is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during all three days of the show.

At 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 24, Mike Rowe will deliver the opening keynote address in the LVCC West Hall. Rowe is best known as the host of the TV show “Dirty Jobs” that originally aired from 2003 to 2012 on Discovery Channel.

Also on Sept. 24, West Hall will play host to a producer CEO panel from 1-2 p.m.

Day 2 of MINExpo 2024 will feature a “fireside chat” in West Hall with Danica Patrick, former professional racecar drive in the IndyCar and NASCAR series. Patrick’s appearance will be followed by a manufacturer and service CEO panel discussion from 1-2 p.m.

Yet another Day 2 event – “An Afternoon with Jon Dorenbos” – will take place from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in West Hall. Dorenbos is a magician and motivational who played in the NFL from 2003-2016 with the Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans and Philadelphia Eagles. The NMA Awards presentation will take place immediately following Dorenbos’ visit.

A closing keynote address will be delivered on Day 3 of MINExpo by Kevin O’Leary, a business speaker, investor, author, venture capitalist and judge on ABC’s “Shark Tank” and CNBC’s “Money Court.”
