Alan Parks, a 25-year veteran at Memphis Stone & Gravel Co. (MSG), was promoted to vice president.

In the leadership role, Parks will oversee all day-to-day operations of Memphis Stone & Gravel – including wash plants, prospecting and environmental. He is also tasked with working closely with the company’s maintenance division for plant upkeep.

Parks will report to Memphis Stone & Gravel president Pat Nelson.

“Not only is Alan a wealth of knowledge in his field, but that dedication to his craft is matched by his care for our people and our communities,” Nelson says. “We are excited for the future of MSG under his leadership.”

As Memphis Stone & Gravel describes, Park has held many roles during his time at the company – including geologist and exploration/planning/environmental manager. In his most recent role as vice president of resource development, Parks actively built relationships throughout the community with local students and residents through field trips.

Granite Construction acquired Memphis Stone & Gravel late last year along with its sister company, Lehman Roberts Co.
