nssga-full-logoThe National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) and the Smithsonian Institute partnered to develop the Q?rius program, which provides educational materials for young people interested in geology and aggregate.

According to NSSGA, the two organizations created a poster and other materials to help students understand the link between geological events in the past and the stone, sand and gravel that comes from today’s quarries.

The Q?rius program offers a variety of activities for students in grades six through 12. They’re led by Smithsonian museum staff members and are designed to keep students on task for 60 minutes.
