The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) named its 2025 Community Relations Excellence winners, as well as its Stars of Excellence award winners, at the 2025 Legislative & Policy Forum.
The Community Relations Excellence Awards recognize aggregate producers for their contributions to their communities and their work enhancing public perception of their individual operations and the entire industry. This year, NSSGA recognized eight Gold, 20 Silver and 69 Bronze Award winners.
Amrize’s Honey Island Sand & Gravel operation was named the Platinum Award winner.
“I am proud that all of our members make a difference and create value in their local communities,” says Michele Stanley, interim CEO of NSSGA. “Members showcase their important community relations efforts of special events, charity work and donations through the NSSGA Community Relations Awards. I am pleased to congratulate all of this year’s winners.”
Receiving National Stars of Excellence awards were Martin Marietta’s Ames Mine and Augusta Quarry. This award is presented to operations with multiple Gold Awards in safety, community relations or environmental excellence within five years.
Along with receiving the Platinum Award, Amrize’s Honey Island Sand & Gravel received a Gold Award. Other Gold Award winners are Presque Isle Quarry (Amrize); Amex Mine, Cedar Rapids Quarry and Perry Quarry (Martin Marietta); Bullitt County Stone and Springdale Quarry (Rogers Group); and Dixie Lee (Vulcan Materials).
