The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) appointed Mira Lezell senior vice president of government and regulatory affairs.

Lezell most recently served as policy advisor for the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee. Prior to that, she served as staff director of the Highways & Transit Subcommittee and worked in the office of the Secretary of Transportation during President Donald Trump’s first term.

Lezell has two decades of experience working in Congress. She served on the staff of a former senior member of the Appropriations Committee and as chief of staff to a former senior member of the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee.

“We are very excited to have Mira lead our government and regulatory affairs teams,” says Michele Stanley, president and CEO of NSSGA. “Her background in transportation policy, while working in Congress and in the administration, will be a tremendous asset to the association. She brings a deep understanding of the legislative process, appreciation for strong stakeholder relationships and an ability to navigate complex issues effectively.”

Lezell is originally from Maryland. She has a degree in policy studies and a minor in public communications from Syracuse University. She currently lives in Washington, D.C.
