The National Mining Association (NMA) reports that MINExpo International 2024 drew 45,000 attendees to the Las Vegas Convention Center from Sept. 24-26.

The 2024 attendance exceeded that of the last MINExpo, which attracted 21,000 registrants to a COVID-altered show in September 2021. About 44,000 attendees registered for the last pre-COVID MINExpo in 2016.

“The response this year was beyond what we could have expected with unparalleled networking and dealmaking like we’ve never seen before,” says Rich Nolan, NMA president and CEO. “From the exhibitors to the new space in the convention center and our new streaming platform NMA TV, everyone stepped up their game and the results were extraordinary.”

NMA says this year’s MINExpo featured more than 2,000 exhibitors from 148 countries. MINExpo exhibits spanned more than 850,000 sq. ft.

One of those exhibitors was Major, a manufacturer of wire screens for the aggregate, mining and recycling industries.

“The event provided a fantastic platform for networking, learning and showcasing our latest innovations,” says Ian Edwards, vice president of global sales at Major. “One of the standout aspects for us was the chance to reconnect with existing clients and meet new potential customers face-to-face, especially after the COVID-altered attendance in 2021. It was a great opportunity to engage with other industry leaders and exchange insights on the future of mining and quarrying.”

Similarly, Haver & Boecker Niagara’s Julie Andras says her company had a positive overall show experience.

“MINExpo was a very strong show for us this year with consistently high traffic in our booth,” says Andras, director of marketing at Haver & Boecker Niagara. “It was great engaging in quality conversations with both current and prospective customers; several companies came by multiple times with people in different roles, which was exciting.”

Additionally, several exhibitors shared how they saw more aggregate producers at this year’s MINExpo.

“MINExpo was an all-around success for us this year,” says Josh Swank, chief growth officer at Philippi-Hagenbuch. “It provided a great opportunity to catch up in person with people from around the globe – not only those in the mining industry, but also many aggregates producers. Steady traffic flowed through our booth, which led to exciting conversations with operations looking to boost efficiency with their existing fleet and those planning for new haul truck purchases.”
