The Training Resources Applied to Mining Conference (TRAM) will take place Oct. 10-12 at the National Mine Health & Safety Academy in Beaver, West Virginia.
Featuring presentations from industry safety trainers, the conference aims to help health and safety trainers improve their skills and infuse new ideas and materials into their training programs. A limited number of workshops will be streamed online, as well.
According to the Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA), the workshops will cover a variety of topics pertinent to mine safety trainers. The theme of this year’s conference is “Expand Your Reach,” and presentation topics will cover everything from best practices for better content delivery to innovative training design techniques.
MSHA says training in today’s mining industry is considered a foundational element in its mission to improve mine safety. A training materials competition hosted at TRAM over the years has fostered a new level of professionalism in the development of training materials, the agency adds. The competition is open to all sources of mining-related training materials.
TRAM’s exhibit area features some of the latest training materials developed by MSHA, state grant recipients and the mining industry. Additional exhibits showcase innovative health and safety products.
