George Sidney, president and COO of McLanahan Corp., plans to retire at the end of 2018.
He will remain an active part of McLanahan’s board of directors and with industry trade associations following his retirement.
Sidney started with McLanahan upon earning a mechanical engineering degree from Penn State University in 1973. Before being named company president in 2004, he served in a variety of positions, including design engineer, sales engineer, engineering manager and several executive roles.
Sidney has been involved in many mining and aggregate associations over the years. He is a past chairman of the Manufacturers & Services Division of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) and a ROCKPAC trustee. In 2017, he was named NSSGA’s Grassroots CEO of the Year.
Upon Sidney’s retirement at the end of this year, Sean McLanahan’s title will be adjusted from CEO to both president and CEO.
In addition, Cory Jenson was named executive vice president of sales and business development, a new position that will directly manage the sales and business development of the company’s global offices, as well as oversee the product management and marketing and communications teams.
Jenson has been with McLanahan since 2009, serving in a variety of roles. He was most recently vice president of product management and development. Jenson will work with Sidney through the rest of the year to transition into his responsibilities.
With Jenson’s move, Brian Prenatt was promoted to vice president of product management and development. Prenatt has been with McLanahan for 24 years and has served in managerial roles in engineering and product management. He will oversee the growth of McLanahan’s product lines through the product management group, as well as oversee the company’s process engineering and technical standards.
