LafargeHolcim aggregate sales up slightly in latest report

LafargeHolcim’s second-quarter aggregate sales in North America were up 0.5 percent this year, totaling 30.5 million tonnes.

The company’s first-half North American aggregate production, meanwhile, is down 0.6 percent at 44.5 million tonnes.

Globally, LafargeHolcim’s sales of aggregate were down for both the first half and the first quarter. Still, the company’s revenue grew 6.2 percent in the second quarter. For the first six months, net sales grew 4.8 percent on a like-for-like basis.

“I am very satisfied with the sales growth we achieved in the first half of the year, especially as we gained momentum in the second quarter,” says Jan Jenisch, CEO of LafargeHolcim. “Increasing energy prices and cost inflation have been challenging. Operational issues in some markets have been addressed and we expect to deliver increasing margins as we capture the upward trend in demand through the second half of 2018.”

LafargeHolcim targets a 3 to 5 percent increase for its total 2018 net sales, as well as at least a 5 percent increase in its recurring earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization on a like-for-like basis.
