Kolberg-Pioneer Inc. (KPI), Johnson Crushers International (JCI) and Astec Mobile Screens collectively launched and showcased a number of products at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2017, including the 3365 Pioneer jaw crusher, the GT440 mobile horizontal shaft impactor (HSI), the Kodiak K500+ and the hybrid GT205 mobile multi-frequency screen and Kolberg-Pioneer’s jaw crusher product line expands with the new 3365 Pioneer jaw crusher. According to the company, the innovative shaft and bearing assembly increases serviceability and reduces maintenance and rebuild cost, providing a lower total cost of ownership through the lifetime of the machine. The electric motor mount, v-belt drive and guarding are all integrated on the machine, providing an easy-to-install compact package for mobile or stationary applications, according to the company.
“The 3365 is the latest introduction in KPI’s jaw crusher line,” says Tim Harms, product manager for Kolberg-Pioneer. “This crusher has up to 20 percent more capacity than the next size in its width class in both hard rock and recycled applications. The 3365 features an automatic adjust, for both the wedge style and tramp iron release systems. It also offers the advantages standard on Pioneer crushers, including replaceable jaw die seats, barrel protector plate, as well as an aggressive 1.5-in. stroke.”
Kolberg-Pioneer also launched the GT440, which features a 42-in. x 40-in. horizontal shaft impact crusher that can be offered in a three- or four-bar rotor configuration, allowing the end user to choose the best solution for the application. Continuous crushing and tracking allows producers to increase uptime by 30 percent, the company says. The unit’s overload protection system gives end users the ability to maximize performance and production.
“The new GT440 HSI offers producers flexibility through mobility, quick setup and the new patent-pending hybrid power, which offers the option to run on either line power or diesel power when necessary,” says Stephen Whyte, product manager for KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens.
In addition, Johnson Crushers International featured the Kodiak K500+, its 500-hp, remote-adjust cone crusher. The K500+ is part of the Kodiak Plus cone crusher family. The K500+ model fills the demand for larger secondary and tertiary cone crushers that are used by high production aggregate producers and mining companies, according to Ian Pendergrass, Johnson Crushers International product development manager.
“The Kodiak Plus product line includes a hybrid cast/fabricated base frame design, an automated control system, a patented liner retention system, patented thread locking ring, anti-spin cone brake, and other additional evolutionary refinements,” Pendergrass says. “The K500+ incorporates these innovations as well, and we are confident in its ability to fill a large need in the current aggregate and mining markets.”
Astec Mobile Screens’ hybrid GT205 mobile multi-frequency screen, meanwhile, has the ability to run on either line power or diesel power. The GT205 features a high-performance 5-ft. x 20-ft. screen designed for aggregate, recycling, construction and industrial markets. With its multi-frequency technology, end users can expect up to 50 percent higher screening capacity on the bottom deck, the company says. The GT205 provides users with on-site flexibility, and its simple controls create an easy-to-operate machine, resulting in increased uptime, according to Astec Mobile Screens.
“With the addition of the hybrid technology to the GT205, we are able to offer end users and dealers the latest solutions for their operations in aggregate, recycling, construction and industrial markets,” Whyte says.
In a ConExpo-Con/Agg press conference Tuesday, Astec Industries CEO Ben Brock indicated the entire company had 33 examples of new products in its trade show booth.
