Komatsu plans to double its parts distribution footprint in Canada by transforming its Edmonton parts depot into a full-service distribution center.
Komatsu says the expansion supports ongoing efforts to enhance service levels, shorten lead times and better support dealers and customers across Canada.
The upgraded facility will span about 135,000 sq. ft., enabling Komatsu to store and distribute fast-moving parts directly from Edmonton to improve delivery times.
“Our customers rely on Komatsu for uptime and productivity, and this investment ensures we can meet those expectations faster and more efficiently than ever,” says Danny Murtagh, vice president of parts and infrastructure at Komatsu. “By bringing parts closer to where our customers operate, we’re cutting lead times, boosting availability and improving customer service.”
Rod Bull, CEO of Komatsu North America, describes Canada as “a core market for Komatsu.”
“This expansion is not just about space,” he says. “It’s about service and making sure our dealers and customers have what they need, when they need it.”
