Komatsu showcased several pieces of equipment at AGG1 Aggregates Academy & Expo in St. Louis.
The company highlighted two of its own offerings – the HM400-5 articulated haul truck, the WA485-11 wheel loader and My Komatsu – as well as equipment from subsidiary brands Montabert and Lehnhoff. On display from Montabert were the V32 hydraulic breaker and the HCP 850 and HCP 1000 pulverizers. A Lehnhoff SQ-V quick coupler was also featured.
HM400-5 haul truck

The HM400-5 articulated haul truck is designed for where roads are not established or may not exist, according to Komatsu.
It is engineered to move material across challenging and adverse terrain thanks to the Komatsu Traction Control System. The system requires no operator input and functions automatically by monitoring and adjusting to changing conditions without sacrificing steering performance, according to the company.
The HM400-5 features a standard payload meter, which ensures optimal loading and production, Komatsu says. Loaded material weight can be viewed in several places – in the cab on a monitor, from the loading tool via cab-mounted external display lamps, or through Komtrax, the company’s telematics technology.
WA485-11 wheel loader
Komatsu says its new wheel loader, meanwhile, is designed with advanced features to enhance productivity, control fuel consumption and make maintenance easier compared to the previous model.
The WA485-11 is equipped with a newly developed, fuel-efficient Komatsu DBA127 engine and a Komatsu hydraulic mechanical transmission that is engineered to deliver controllability and high transmission feedback. The loader features a new cab with operator-assistance features such as angle feedback joystick steering control.
Another version of the WA485-11 – the WA485-11YL – adds a yard loader package with features engineered for aggregate jobs and efficiently moving material. Compared to the standard WA485-11, the machine has a larger-capacity bucket, an additional counterweight and wide tires for enhanced stability. Komatsu says these offerings make the WA485-11YL a great choice for handling, stockpiling and loading processed material onto commercial trucks with three passes.
V32 hydraulic breaker

Montabert’s V32 hydraulic breaker is designed for demanding applications such as demolition, excavation and quarrying. Its automatic speed variation system enables the breaker to adjust impact energy and striking rate based on material hardness, enhancing efficiency and productivity, according to Komatsu.
The V32’s advanced features, including an energy recovery system and blank-firing protection, help to ensure reliable operation while reducing wear and tear on the breaker and carrier.
Additionally, Komatsu says the breaker enhances operator safety and convenience with its fully enclosed cradle that minimizes noise and protects against debris. The tool protection system helps to extend the lifespan of wear parts, while the automatic lubrication system reduces maintenance needs, the company says.
The V32 is designed for use with excavators in the 18- to 30-metric ton range.

HCP 850 & 1000 pulverizers
Montabert’s HCP 850 and HCP 1000 hydraulic pulverizers are designed for demanding demolition, recycling and steel bar cleaning applications, Komatsu says. The pulverizers enable efficient crushing and separation of materials on-site, reducing waste and enhancing productivity.
The HCP series features heavy-duty construction with high-strength steel, making it ideal for handling tough materials while remaining durable over time, according to Komatsu. Its integrated speed valve helps to ensure faster cycle times, improving operational efficiency.
Both the 850 and 1000 pulverizers are compatible with carriers in the 15 to 40 metric-ton range.
SQ-V quick coupler
The Lehnhoff SQ-V is a fully automatic, symmetric quick coupler system enabling operators to change rigid and hydraulic attachments without leaving the cab, enhancing safety and productivity. Its symmetric design and valve technology help to optimize operations’ range of services by supporting various attachments in both backhoe and shovel models.
The SQ-V offers precise hydraulic connections with minimal pressure loss and low heat generation, Komatsu says. The system’s robust construction and integrated depressurization unit help to improve durability and reduce maintenance costs, which the company says makes it an efficient solution for construction, demolition and land development projects
My Komatsu

My Komatsu is a comprehensive digital hub that allows 24/7 access to machine telematics data, parts manuals, service manuals, software and parts ordering in a single place.
The software is designed to help customers harness technology to manage their fleet, according to Komatsu. Users can connect to machine data and support from anywhere at any time. This allows operators to manage their fleet with digital tools to help them be effective and economical.
According to Komatsu, My Komatsu users gain instant access to parts and service information through a single, comprehensive portal that makes it easy to order parts online. Customers can visualize and evaluate their assets with fleet-wide or equipment-specific information on any device.
