Holcim’s North American business will be named Amrize following a spinoff that’s expected by the end of the first half of 2025, the company announced.

Amrize originates from two concepts: ambition and rising. As Holcim describes: “‘Am’ represents the future company’s commitment to high performance and innovation to meet its customers’ greatest ambitions. ‘Rize’ symbolizes the company’s drive to lead construction forward across North America to shape the essential buildings and infrastructure that advance how people live.”

Amrize will operate as an independent public company.

“Introducing the Amrize name marks an important step as we prepare Holcim’s North American business to become an independent public company,” says Jan Jenisch, chairman of Holcim and designated chairman and CEO of Amrize. “This is an exciting time for construction in North America, with the ongoing modernization of infrastructure, the reshoring of manufacturing and the opportunity to bridge the housing gap with the most advanced building solutions. With our planned spinoff of Amrize, we aim to be the partner of choice for our North American customers and unlock value for all our stakeholders.”

The company intends to list Amrize shares under the symbol ‘‘AMRZ’’ on the New York Stock Exchange, with an additional listing on the SIX Swiss Exchange. The North American business will continue to operate as Holcim until the spinoff is complete.
