Hillhead made its return to the UK this week, showcasing the latest equipment and technologies from roughly 600 exhibiting companies.
The trade show, which takes place in Tarmac’s Hillhead Quarry in Buxton, England, features live equipment demonstrations across three days. According to the QMJ Group, which organizes Hillhead, several expansions, additions and improvements were made to the showgrounds this year.
The renamed Showground Pavilion, for example, was extended by nearly 14,000 sq. ft. to generate more indoor stand space, as well as add a newly designed Hillhead Café and outdoor terrace seating area.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of Hillhead. The show last took place in 2022, with Hillhead breaking an attendance record that year.
“Some 18,500 unique visitors attended the show and were entertained by a record number of live demonstrations,” says Richard Bradbury, executive director of QMJ Group, referring to the 2022 show.
This year, more than 35 machines are included in Hillhead’s equipment demonstrations. Among the equipment being demoed are excavators, wheel loaders, haul trucks, dozers, hydraulic breakers, screening buckets and mist cannons.
Among the exhibiting companies to already unveil new equipment at this year’s Hillhead are CDE and Eriez. CDE debuted its ProPress filter press at Hillhead while Eriez launched the MetAlarm metal detector.
