Hillhead 2018, which took place June 26-28 in Buxton, England, reported a record-breaking attendance of 19,753 unique visitors. The show also hosted 546 exhibitors.
According to show organizers, feedback from a visitor survey determined about 90 percent of attendees are likely to visit the show again.
The survey also determined ways show organizers can improve Hillhead 2020, which is set to take place June 23-25, 2020, at Tarmac’s Hillhead Quarry near Buxton. Organizers plan to invest more in additional shuttle buses serving the free car parking, more directional signage on the showground, additional public seating areas for visitors and the ability to accept card payments in the catering outlets.
Hillhead, which takes place biennially, is a quarry, construction and recycling exhibition. The show features four demonstration areas, including the quarry face for large excavators, face shovels, hydraulic breakers, wheel loaders and dumptrucks; a rock processing area for crushers, screens, scalping grids and stockpiling conveyors; a recycling area for crushing, shredding, screening and washing equipment; and a registration area for rock processing and recycling demonstrations.
