Furukawa Rock Drill USA (FRD USA) introduced its Fx225 Qtv hydraulic breaker. According to the company, the hammer is designed to help improve day-to-day performance and to provide less maintenance and downtime, as well as a smoother operation and reliability.
Engineered to operate on 21- to 26.5-ton excavators, the Fx225 is an impact class breaker. It boasts improvements to the internal grease routing, which provides more direct lubrication to select components. The breaker includes a relocated air inlet for its dust intake prevention system, which allows it to take in air from the top, creating a dust-free environment.
The hydraulic breaker also features a square, mono-block design and an improved valve design, which reduces hydraulic fluid temperatures for increased performance. It includes a redesigned piston for enhanced surface contact to working steel and a replaceable cylinder liner designed to increase tool life and reduce maintenance.
Other features of the Fx225 include an improved Qtv Box, an increased hydraulic flow range, a three-point sealing system and improved lubrication.
According to the company, all Furukawa hammers come complete with a Pro-Pak for ease of installation. The Pro-Pak includes hose whips, mounting hardware, standard working steel and a tool kit with an operating manual.
