David Lyons, whom Finlay describes as a “cornerstone” of the brand’s customer support and product development teams for more than 45 years, retired.

Among Lyons’ accomplishments were the Finlay 393 screener, which he helped develop in the 1990s. According to Finlay, the machine became a critical factor in the brand’s recovery and growth after the death of John Finlay in 1986.

Lyons also played a role in the launch and expansion of the Finlay crusher range, according to the company.

“While David’s presence will be missed, his contributions have laid a solid foundation for Finlay’s continued success, upholding the strap line David himself is proud of: ‘Strong Heritage, Strong Future,’” says Matt Dickson, business line director at Finlay. “On behalf of the entire team, I thank him for his valuable contributions to Finlay over the years and wish him a happy and healthy retirement.”
