Suspended permanent magnets automatically remove large amounts of ferrous from nonferrous materials conveyed in heavy burden depths, on almost any type of conveyor or chute, Eriez says. With no power source necessary, the magnets require no electrical maintenance and offer uninterrupted magnetic protection. In addition, Eriez says they offer safe, reliable tramp iron removal to protect costly processing machinery and maintain product purity. Magnets operate at peak efficiency at all times, the company adds, as temperatures in the 100-to-200-degree range have virtually no effect on the separators. Magnets are available in manual-cleaning (MC) and self-cleaning (SC) models. Both MC and SC models are offered in five magnetic strengths. Options include hazardous-duty motors, static-conducting belts, zero-speed switches, special belts for abrasive, hot or difficult applications, foundry package options, and drawer-type strippers for easy cleaning.
