Solution to capture silica dust within quarries
The WAM Polygonal hopper with a WAMAIR unit represents an engineering control method of capturing silica dust in quarries. Whether placed by a crusher with suction piping to dust extraction points or the WAMAIR is taken off the Polygonal hopper and mounted above belt conveyors, silica dust can be filtered. The filtered dust can be reclaimed or disposed with the Polygonal hopper, according to WAM USA. With WAM’s dust filtration unit, a fan pulls the dust into the filters, the filters are cleaned when the differential pressure drops below a certain point, and the dust is pushed through the suction air into the hopper.
Water tanks offer full coverage of haul roads
Philippi-Hagenbuch’s HiVol water tanks feature a stable, square design that improves stability and maximizes hauling capacity. Each tank is custom engineered to haul the greatest possible volume for the specific make and model of off-highway articulated or rigid-frame haul truck. According to Philippi-Hagenbuch, the tanks feature easy-to-use, operator-friendly controls and the ability to spray the entire width of a haul road in one pass. Philippi-Hagenbuch engineers HiVol water tanks for new haul trucks and as a retrofit for older trucks. The company says operations often incorporate the tanks onto their aging haul trucks to convert them to water trucks, extending equipment life. Each tank features Hardox 450 steel.
Next-generation dust control for various environments
In addition to offering automatic heavy-duty washing systems, MobyDick now has a range of dust control solutions. Developed in collaboration with universities, MobyDick’s Cannon products offer throw efficiency and seamless adjustment of throw distance, allowing quick adaptation to various operational conditions. A nozzle head provides a high dust-binding capacity with adjustable spray patterns to match different dust characteristics, according to the company.
