Custom Dredge Works (CDW) completed the assembly of a 12-in., electric-powered cutter suction dredge at Eastern Shore Sand & Gravel in Henderson, Maryland.

York Building Products owns Eastern Shore Sand & Gravel.

According to CDW, a cutter suction dredge is a floating, mining-oriented machine that pulls sand and gravel up from the bottom of a pit that is mostly filled with water. CDW says the dredge has an 85-ft.-long ladder that is capable of mining in water depths up to 62 ft.

The dredge is currently achieving York’s production objectives, CDW adds.

“Our focus was to design and deliver a world-class flagship dredge to York Building Products,” says John Jones, president of CDW. “We believe that we have achieved that, and we are excited to see this advanced dredge aid York in its aggregate mining operations in Maryland.”
