The top four sand and gravel producers remain unchanged from a year ago, with CRH Americas Materials (No. 1) retaining the top spot. Holcim US (No. 5) jumps three spots, while Granite Construction (No. 9) eeks into the top 10. Summit Materials (No. 6), Heidelberg Materials (No. 8) and Teichert (No. 10) all lose ground.
According to USGS, the combined production of the top 10 companies was down 4 percent in 2023 to 245 million metric tons. The top 10’s output accounted for about 25 percent of the nation’s total, USGS adds.
