CRH acquired Dutra Materials, a construction materials producer based in Northern California.

Dutra Materials has a quarry in San Rafael, California, and distribution centers scattered across the San Francisco Bay and Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta region.

“We are delighted to welcome Dutra Materials into the CRH family,” says Scott Parson, president of Americas Materials Solutions at CRH. “Following our entry into the state of California earlier this year via the acquisitions of BoDean Co. and Northgate Ready Mix, we are excited to expand our presence in California and further enhance our ability to provide integrated solutions to customers in this attractive market.”

According to CRH, the BoDean and Northgate deals added two quarries, two ready-mixed concrete plants, one asphalt plant and one recycle plant to its operations. The deal for Dutra Materials nets CRH additional aggregate reserves and asphalt production capabilities to further serve the construction market in Northern California.

“The construction market in California is one of the largest in the United States and presents CRH with attractive opportunities for continued growth,” Parson says. “As North America’s leading integrated supplier of aggregates, asphalt and ready-mixed concrete, we look forward to helping build, connect and improve Northern California and serving customers with our unique combination of building materials, products and solutions.”
