Cemex USA wins three internal health and safety awards

Cemex USA won three Cemex Health and Safety Awards.

The awards are handed out annually, and judges from inside the company examine the entries from different regions of the global company.

Cemex USA’s West Logistics Region, which includes Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington, earned first place in the “Most Improved” category for terminal operations. According to the company, the West Region has developed a number of safety innovations that have been implemented in the terminals, including new safety racks and procedures for incoming trucks.

Judges also recognized Cemex USA for its contractor site safety education initiatives. According to Cemex USA, this initiative was one of 10 worldwide to receive this award.

Finally, Cemex USA’s health and wellness microsite, which was developed by its human resources department, was awarded as one of the best health initiatives inside the company.

“We focus on the health and safety of Cemex employees every day to live up to our Zero4Life commitment,” says Ignacio Madridejos, president of Cemex USA. “These awards show how employees all over the U.S. want to make their work sites safer for themselves and for their colleagues, while still providing the best service to our customers.”
