Sandvik: CI511/512 crusher
The second generation of compact horizontal impact crushers from Sandvik provides low capital cost solutions, optimum performance and good cubical shape — all while ensuring low operating cost per ton. The all-new patented and highly modularized Sandvik CI511/512 crusher combines the ability to configure one base crusher into either a primary or a secondary configuration. In addition, the crusher is able to produce products with just two curtains for greater breakage. It’s equipped with an infinite hydraulic curtain adjustment, combined with a brake positioning system — relieving pressure and setting when uncrushable objects enter the crusher. No hydraulic power is required during normal operation, thus saving on operating power and reducing total power consumption. www.construction.Sandvik.com Photo: Sandvik Keep Reading
McLanahan: Dewatering screens
Dewatering screens were introduced in the late 1970s by McLanahan and quickly became the standard in the mining industry. McLanahan dewatering screens feature heavy side plates, stress relieved bridges and cross-beams. The cross-beams are Huck-fastened together (not welded) so that individual components can be replaced. Heavy-duty screen media is utilized for all applications and is manufactured in-house by McLanahan’s Polymers Division. This rugged, easily maintained design, along with the versatility of media combinations, is key to superior long-term performance and flexibility. McLanahan dewatering screens offer multiple advantages for construction and specialty aggregate producers including a drier, drip-free product that other types of equipment cannot provide. www.Mclanahan.com Photo: Mclanahan Keep Reading
Griswold Pump Co.: 811 Series (ANSI) centrifugal pumps
Griswold Pump Co.’s 811 Series American National Standards Institute (ANSI) centrifugal pumps are ideal for tank transfer and truck loading and unloading in low-temperature and low-pressure conditions. They have two times the wear area between the case and impeller when compared to closed-impeller designs, the company says. The 811’s open-impeller design also minimizes concentrated wear by balancing the hydraulic thrust load and reducing stuffing-box pressure. The pumps are available in a full range of sizes with flow rates up to 4,000 gpm, with the ability to operate in temperatures up to 500º F. www.GriswoldPump.com Photo: Griswold Pump Keep Reading
Terex MPS: MVP380X
The new Terex Cedarapids MVP380X cone crusher from Terex MPS boasts numerous features that increase the machine’s productivity and ease of use. Major new enhancements include high-speed clearing of jammed material and quick crusher separation capability for faster manganese changes. The new 300-hp MVP380X incorporates pinned cylinder ends that remove quickly to allow fast cone separation, which results in faster manganese changes. At the press of a button, fully guided, dual-action tramp relief cylinders provide 6-in. lift for easy clearing of jammed feed material. The hydro-pneumatic tramp iron relief system instantly resets the crusher setting after passing uncrushable material without having to activate valves and pumps. Rollercone patented super bearing design provides higher efficiency, making more horsepower available for crushing. www.TerexMPS.com Photo: Terex MPS Keep Reading
Caterpillar: 966K XE wheel loader
Caterpillar's 966K XE wheel loader delivers up to a 25 percent fuel efficiency improvement, the company says. The 966K XE utilizes an integrated, continuously variable transmission system. A hydraulic pump and motor allow for a smooth and continuous gear ratio change between engine speed and machine speed. According to Cat, the variator provides this ratio flexibility while reducing the heat load generated by the drivetrain when the machine is digging, pushing and climbing under heavy load. Power is transmitted through the variator unit, as well as a parallel mechanical gear path. Power through the variator and mechanical paths are combined through a series of planetary gear sets to maximize the transmission efficiency over a range of operating conditions. The unit's engine can deliver 290 hp. www.Cat.com Photo: Caterpillar Keep Reading
IRock: TS-409
The TS-409 open-style feeder track screening plant is one in a line of five IRock models the company has designed for small to midsized producers looking for a more economical, compact plant. The TS-409 can accommodate topsoil, mulch, sand and gravel, asphalt, coal, limestone and demolition debris, and it is powered by a 66.2-hp Deutz engine. The plant is capable of processing materials at a rate of up to 300 tph. It features an open-style hopper feeder with a 5.02-cu.-yd. capacity, and it has a 42-in.-wide belt feeder conveyor. www.IRockcrushers.com Keep Reading
Caterpillar: 349E hydraulic excavator
Caterpillar's 349E hydraulic excavator features a 396-net-hp Cat C13 engine that meets Tier 4 Interim emissions standards. The 349E delivers more engine and hydraulic horsepower than its 345D predecessor and averages 5 percent improved fuel efficiency in typical applications, according to Cat. The engine, which operates either on ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel (ULSD) or a blend of ULSD and 20 percent biodiesel, uses the Cat Clean Emissions Module (CEM) to meet Tier 4 Interim standards. The CEM regeneration system is designed to be transparent to the operator and regenerate when the conditions are optimal with no operator intervention. In automatic mode, the regeneration system allows the machine to work as normal with no interruptions to the work cycle. www.Cat.com Keep Reading
Stedman
The Grand Slam Series of horizontal shaft impactors from Stedman uses high-chrome metallurgy to increase the wear life of machine components, reducing metal replacement costs. The series consists of 11 high-production models, with capacities ranging from 1,200 to 1,600 tph. The impactor design incorporates both primary and secondary aprons for maximum product control, eliminating the need for grate bars and discharge screens. The impactors’ two-stage crushing action produces more product on the first pass with reductions ratios up to 30:1, even while handling large and slabby feed material. A full-length rotor shaft with two, double-row spherical-type bearing assemblies features a taper lock design to strengthen the rotor for highest reliability. www.Stedman-machine.com Photo: Stedman Keep Reading
Metso: Lokotrack ST2.4
Metso’s newest mobile screen in the Lokotrack series, the ST2.4, is designed to combine high screening capacity with low fuel consumption.
