Armada Materials logoArmada Materials acquired the assets of Wright Paving Contractors and Custom Stone of Fayetteville, Tennessee.

Wright Paving Contractors and Custom Stone are part of the Wright Companies, which was founded in 1973. The company eventually expanded into aggregate and asphalt production, milling and paving, growing to 50 employees.

Wright Paving Contractors and Custom Stone will be combined with Armada’s Volunteer Materials operations in Tennessee.

“We are excited about the combination of our family’s business with the Volunteer Materials platform,” says Tommy Wright, owner of the Wright Companies. “The Armada team has consistently stood on their word and was able to make this a smooth transition for me, my family and our wonderful employees.”

Grad Wright will continue to serve as an operations manager, according to Armada.

“I look forward to partnering with Armada and the Volunteer team to continue delivering excellent quality and service to our customers throughout middle Tennessee,” Wright says.

Rob Duke, CEO of Armada, also provided perspective on the deal.

“We are pleased to join with the Wright Companies and their team to grow the Armada Materials family of companies,” Duke says. “We look forward to combining the extremely talented professionals of both the Wright Companies and our existing platform company, Volunteer Materials.

“As a combined organization with an expanded footprint, we are well positioned to provide infrastructure materials in the fast-growing middle Tennessee market,” he adds.

Armada, which is based in Tampa, Florida, was established in 2023 by Duke, a group of investors and a middle-market private-equity firm.
