Holcim provided a glimpse at its third-quarter financial performance, detailing that net sales to external customers in North America were flat versus the prior-year period.
The company’s EBIT in North America, however, was up 5.3 percent in the quarter.
Through nine months of the year, Holcim says its North American operations delivered record net sales and recurring EBIT. Those led to a recurring EBIT margin of 21.7 percent.
Globally, Holcim’s net sales were down 8.8 percent in the third quarter while recurring EBIT was up 3.1 percent. The company’s net sales were down 10.2 percent through nine months of the year, with recurring EBIT down 2.2 percent over that same stretch.
Aggregates
Holcim also published specifics on its global aggregate business through nine months of the year. According to Holcim, net sales of aggregates are up 5.8 percent this year. Recurring EBIT of aggregates, meanwhile, is up 5.6 percent.
In terms of net sales, Holcim’s aggregate business is its top growth business this year. Net sales of cement are down 19.8 percent while net sales of ready-mixed concrete are up 4 percent. The company’s net sales in its solutions and products business are down 0.8 percent.
