The Grand Slam horizontal shaft impactor (HSI) from Stedman Machine Co. offers a versatile crusher design that can solve a number of size reduction problems, including highway asphalt recycling. The 48 in. x 60 in. Grand Slam can process recycled asphalt pavement at 300 tph at standard settings with the capability for more, the company says. According to Stedman, HSIs are capable of high size reduction ratios – up to 30 to 1 – with no decrease in product quality, even after long periods of operation. All types of material sizes and hardness can be crushed with minimal maintenance, producing a cubical particle shape and allowing for size distribution control. Change the rotor speed and the clearances between rotor breaker bars and apron breaker plates to vary product size.
