AGG1 2018: Around Houston: Armand Bayou Nature Center

The Armand Bayou Nature Center is one of the largest urban wilderness preserves in the United States. According to Visit Houston, the Armand Bayou Nature Center protects 2,500 acres of natural wetlands, forest, prairie and marsh habitats, where more than 370 species of birds, reptiles, amphibians and plants live.

Guests can hike, view live exhibits, bird watch and go on guided boat and canoe tours. The facility also features an education center, where guests can learn about the center’s animal inhabitants and view live animal displays of snakes, alligators, turtles, hawks and bison.

Finally, guests can visit the center’s Martyn Farm, which will take them back in time to late 1800s farm life in Texas.
