Buffalo Wire Works showcased its PFX self-cleaning modular screen panels at AGG1 Aggregates Academy & Expo in Nashville, Tennessee.

Specifically on display were the company’s tensioned models. The company also offers untensioned panels and says both options are designed for easy installation.

Having an option for a pre-tensioned screen is part of what sets PFX panels apart from others, says Maxon Davis, president of Buffalo Wire.

“We pre-tension the wires prior to making the panel so they have that same efficiency and effect as if it were a full screen going on the tension rails,” Davis says. “It’s easier to install due to using a modular panel system, and it also increases the wear life of the panel and the efficiency of the screening.

“We’re producing [the screens] with our HT wire, which is our patented profile wire, which also increases wear life and gets you additional throughput with more openings per square foot,” Davis adds.

According to Buffalo Wire, the tensioning of the screen prevents pocketing and performs as efficiently as a hooked screen. Additionally, the company says its tensioned PFX panels eliminate blinding and pegging, provide durable construction and long panel life, increase open area and are ideal for finer aperture applications.

So far, Davis says the panels have been speaking for themselves.

“It’s having great early success in the field with customers we’re working with,” Davis says. “We’re enjoying engineering these products and solving the biggest headaches our customers have.”
