San Bernardino County approved Panamint Valley Limestone‘s (PVL Limestone) plans to construct a lime plant in Trona, California.

According to PVL Limestone, the plant will employ more than 30 people from the Trona area.

Low environmental emissions and safety to the community and employees were paramount design considerations, PVL Limestone says. Lime will be produced by converting limestone from the operating PVL Limestone quarry into lime, which will be distributed to customers in California and, potentially, other markets.

In addition, PVL Limestone plans to enter the bright white limestone markets in Southern California. With the development of its Helder Wit deposit, the company says it has more than 100 years of supply on hand.
